Crackdown continues against profiteers, encroachers

QUETTA: The crackdown is continued against the profiteering as well as sale of poor standard edibles and unhygienic conditions and encroachments, in the provincial metropolis and its outskirts.
The Special Price Magistrates, Shafi Agha and Babarak Khan are personally supervising the campaigns in different areas of the metropolis.
Shafi Agha raided in Industrial and Kechi Baig police stations’ jurisdictions while Babarak Khan took action in the Satellite Town area.
As many as 27 shopkeepers were charged with fine amounting to Rs. 81,500 aggregately in Industrial and Kechi Baig areas.
Similarly, raid was conducted on the dairy farms selling milk above the official price list. The owners of 10 dairy farms were fined Rs, 150,000. There were also allegations of adulteration in the milk.
Meanwhile, the Assistant Commissioner Quetta city, Tariq Mengal also seemed in action against the profiteers, adulterers and encroachers in Brewery road.
The shopkeepers violating the directives in this regard were charged with fine of Rs. 8,000.
Nine other shopkeepers were also issued warning to mend their way, otherwise stern action would be taken against them.
