Seminar on protected vegetable cultivation: “Govt. taking steps to improve agriculture, livestock sectorsâ€

QUETTA: One-day agricultural seed exhibition and seminar was held on protected vegetable cultivation here at a local hotel the other day.
The Provincial Minister for Services and General Administration department (S&GAD), Nawab Muhammad Khan Shahwani was chief guest at the seminar that was organized by Balochistan Rural Support Programme (BRSP) in collaboration with the Agriculture Research Institute, Balochistan. The financial support was provided for the seminar by PPAF.
Speaking on the occasion, the S&GAD Minister said that the government is taking every possible steps for bringing improvement in the agriculture and livestock sectors besides resolving the problems being faced by zamindars of the province.
He said that agriculture is the major source of income and livelihood of the people of the province, so we would do our best to strengthen this sector.
Very positive impacts would be casted on our economy with improvement in the agriculture sector, he maintained.
It would also help resolve the problems of the growers to a great extent, he believed.
Nawab Muhammad Khan Shahwani urged the growers to cultivate their lands maximum so as to yield good crops.
Referring performance of the present government in the law and order sector, the Minister S&GAD said that the law and order situation has been improved considerably thanks to the initiatives taken by the coalition partners.
He said that the incidents of theft and dacoity have been decreased in the province as a result the people have taken a sigh of relief. The highways have also been made safer in the province, he claimed.
Nawab Shahwani on the occasion appreciated the Balochistan Rural Support Programme for playing its part in the poverty alleviation in the province. It is commendable that the BRSP is contributing in different sectors and also extending financial assistance to different institutions, he maintained.
He also said that the BRSP’s role is vital in improving the socio-economic condition of the general public, so it must continue its programme in the province.
The Minister assured that the government would extend wholehearted cooperation to the BRSP and similar other organizations working for wellbeing of the masses.
He hoped that these organizations would continue to play their effective role in resolving the issues of the masses.
In the end, he distributed certificates among the participants.
