Religious leaders join hands for cause of religious harmony Pledge not to let anyone create differences and disharmony among masses belonging to different schools of thoughts

QUETTA: The religious leaders belonging to different school of thoughts and other personalities have assured to extend their wholehearted cooperation in promoting the religious harmony putting an end to religious disharmony in Quetta and other parts of the province.
They were participating in a review meeting on the law and order, use of loud speakers, provoking speeches, hate material and wall chalking in connection with implementation on the National Action Plan (NAP) in the Quetta Division, here the other day.
The Commissioner, Kambar Dashti presided over the meeting. Also in attendance were the Additional Commissioner Quetta, Muhammad Qasim Mengal, Deputy Commissioner, Dawood Khilji and Senior Superintendent of Police (Operations), Aitezaz Ahmed Goraya.
Prominent religious leaders who attended the meeting were included: Maulana Abdullah Khilji, Allama Jumma Asadi, leader of Jama’at-e-Islami Balochistan, Abdul Qayum Kakar, President of Balochistan Shia Conference, Syed Dawood Agha, Jama’at Ahle Sunnat’s Shahzad Ahmed Qadri, JUI-N’s Qari Mehrullah, Abdul Qayum Changezi, Dr. Attaur Rehman, Allama Akbar Hussain Zahidi, Najeebullah Abid, Hafiz Muhammad Tahir, besides others.
The participating ulemas and other personalities unanimously expressed that the law and order situation has been improved.
We have already extended cooperation to the district administration and we would continue to do so in future as well, they pledged.
They also asserted that no one would be allowed to create differences and disharmony among the people and particularly different sects.
They also assured to cooperate in the ongoing campaign against the misuse of loudspeakers and the materials based on hatred and creating religious disharmony in the province.
They were also appreciative of the government and the administration for taking good initiative for promotion of peace and inter-faith harmony.
Such meetings show the fact that the government wants to take positive steps, they mentioned adding that we are with the government in the interest of country and nation.
Earlier, addressing the meeting, Commissioner stressed that we need to forge unity among our ranks in order to promote religious brotherhood, peace and love.
He also stressed that there is no need to pay attention on any negative propaganda. He said that we have to ensure correct use of loud speakers and it should be used just for call for prayer not for making hate speech.
Speaking on the occasion, Maulana Abdullah Khilji said that this city, province and country is ours. The Shias and Sunnis know each other. We respect the religious faiths of one another.
We have been against the terrorism as well as those creating differences among the people, Maulana Abdullah Khilji added.
Allama Jumma Asadi said that the Ulemas have always played important and positive role in promotion of religious harmony.
Qari Meharullah said that it is a matter of pleasure that the religious leaders are being brought into confidence and proposals are being sought from them.
He said that the love to country is part of our faith and the religious leaders have played positive role against the terrorism.
We can’t think about damaging our home even nor we can let anyone to do so, he said.
Syed Dawood Agha said that we have gathered on a platform, which shows that we are united and our enemies have attempted to harm our province and the country, he added.
