QUETTA: The action has been started against violation of the building code as eight persons were arrested in the metropolis the other day.
Assistant Commissioner Quetta city, Muhammad Tariq Mengal arrested the persons. An illegal boring was also closed during the crackdown.
Meanwhile, as many as 16 shopkeepers were arrested on charges of profiteering and violation of the administration’s directives in this regard.
The Special Price Magistrate took the action.
Similarly, eight shops selling plastic shopping bags were also sealed on double road, old vegetable market.
A fine of Rs. 25,500 was also charged from the shopkeepers and other vendors in different parts of the city.
Moreover, huge quantity of plastic bags was also recovered from the area of Gawal Mandi chowk.
The food centers located on Adalat road were also charged fine of Rs. 50,000 on violation of the hygienic rules and not taking care of the cleanliness there.
Several shopkeepers were also issued warning to mend their way and ensure implementation on the official price list.
Otherwise, they should be ready to face the music, it was warned further. In this regard, the general public has also been asked to pin point the elements involved in the profiteering and sale of poor quality edibles and other essential food items.
