Crackdown against profiteers: Several more shop keepers fined, many issued warning

QUETTA: The district administration kept on taking stern action against the profiteers, encroachers and sellers of sub-standard food items and other edibles as several charged with fine and many others were issued warning to mend their way in the provincial metropolis.
Needless to mention here is that the campaign had been launched on special directives of the Deputy Commissioner Quetta, Dawood Khan Khilji.
The Special Magistrates are personally supervising the campaign.
During the campaign the other day, the Magistrates fined Rs. 86,000 to the shopkeepers collective on charges of violation of the official price list and others.
As many as 18 shopkeepers were issued warning as well while several were provided official price list.
The Special Magistrate, Shafi Agha flanked by the SHO City Police Station raided on the Prince Road and fined Rs. 31,000 while Special Magistrate, Babarak Khan visited Toghi road and fined Rs. 55,000 on the charges of selling goods above the official price list as well as selling expired items and plastic.
Four shops were also sealed on the same charges.
The Quetta district administration has vowed to continue the campaign against profiteering, encroachments and sale of sub-standard materials and edibles in the province.
It was warned that no one would be spared in this regard. A number of shopkeepers have so far been charged with fine. Some have also been taken into custody.
