QUETTA: Three-day training session was held under the auspices of Maternal Neonatal and Child Health (MNCH) Programme Balochistan in Khuzdar.
The lady doctors and health workers from the district attended the training, which was concluded the other day.
The Deputy Commissioner Khuzdar, Syed Abdul Waheed Shah was chief guest at the closing session.
The Training and Communication Officer, MNCH, Dr. Dilshad Qasim supervised the training session.
Dr. Abdul Wahid Baloch was the Coordinator of the programme. Senior child specialist, Dr. Manzoor Ahmed Baloch, Gynecologist, Dr. Rakhshanda Mushtaq and Dr. Zakia Naseer were also present on the occasion and gave their input on the health issues.
Speaking on the occasion, he appreciated the training programme engaging the doctors and other concerned staff particularly at the time when the maternal and infant mortality ratio (MMR and IMR) is on rise in Khuzdar.
He stressed the need to create awareness among the masses about health issues of the mothers and children, particularly the infants.
The better training could help equip the doctors and other concerned health workers and visitors to deal with the cases of mothers and infants and prevent the diseases facing them.
He also called for arranging long term training sessions in future.
Meanwhile, briefing the Deputy Commissioner about the aims and objectives of the training session, Dr. Dilshad Qasim said that it was aimed at imparting training to the doctors and other concerned staff about the critical health issues.
He said that we could save the lives of our mothers and new born babies by imparting necessary training to the health workers. When the health workers would be well trained and equipped with desired knowledge, they would be able to treat the patients particularly the mothers well, he maintained.
The MNCH’s Training and Communication Officer on the occasion thanked the Deputy Commissioner and all others who cooperated in conducting the training session successfully.
