QUETTA: The Food Department, Government of Balochistan has announced to fix official subsidized rate for purchase of wheat from the local zamindars of the province.
According to an official notification issued here, the provincial Food department is purchasing the wheat from the local zamindars this year too like the past as per the government’s policy.
The notification mentioned that the wheat would be purchased @Rs. 1300 per 40 kilogram as per the decision of Economic Coordination Council (ECC).
This would help save the zamindars and growers from the financial loss, it was said.
In this regard, the purchase centers have also been identified. The same have also been publicized through the local newspapers.
Moreover, all the arrangements have been made for recruitment of the staff, transportation and other necessary ones.
The process of purchase would be started soon, it was mentioned further.
Needless to mention here is that this time the government has made Rs. 50 increase in subsidized rate for purchase of per 40 kilogram of wheat this time than the last year.
Last year, the subsidized rate for purchase of wheat was fixed as Rs. 1250 per 40 kilograms in the province.
The increase in subsidized rate of wheat would surely enable farmers to sell their wheat crops on better rates.
