QUETTA: The Advisor to Chief Minister for Education, Sardar Raza Muhammad Barech has categorically stated that the provincial government is firm to eliminate cheating in the examinations as it is a menace which has paralyzed our educational system.
He was addressing one-day seminar arranged by the Balochistan Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education (BISE) Quetta for the professors and lecturers going to perform responsibilities of the superintendents in the examinations, here the other day.
Also present on the occasion were the Secretary for Higher and Technical Education, Ghulam Muhammad Sabir, Secretary Secondary Education, Abdul Saboor Khan Kakar, Chairman BISE Quetta, Professor Saadullah Tokhai, besides others concerned high ups and senior academic staff of different educational institutions.
Sardar Raza Barech said that the coalition partners in the provincial government made education its priority soon after coming into power realizing the fact that no attention whatsoever had been given to this vital sector in the past.
The present government had inherited devastated education system from the past, he regretfully pointed out.
However, we are doing our best to bring improvement in the system and making sincere efforts in this regard, he maintained.
The Advisor to Chief Minister mentioned that while the government is trying to ensure free education for all, the efforts are also underway to bring about improvement in quality of education in the province.
In this regard, the elimination of cheating and use of unfair means is included in top priority of the government, adding he mentioned further.
Sardar Raza Barech on the occasion assured the government’s wholehearted cooperation to the private sector for the cause of increase in the literacy rate.
Every possible financial cooperation would be extended to the private sector in this regard, he said.
In addition to the private sector, we need cooperation of all the sectors to achieve the goal of an educated Balochistan, he stressed.
Referring the initiatives taken by the government for elimination of cheating and use of unfair means in the examinations, the Advisor for Education commended that awareness is created among the parents and children about ill-effects of the cheating on studies.
Earlier, speaking on the occasion, the Secretary Higher Education, Ghulam Muhammad Sabir said that the steps are being taken by provincial government to bring reforms in the education system.
He mentioned that for the first time, the special attention was given to rid the education of cheating, which has yielded positive and encouraging results.
In his address, the Secretary Secondary Education said that the stern action would be taken against the teachers and other concerned supervision staff those failed to prevent cheating in the examination.
