QUETTA Apr 6 (PPI): Government in office soon after assuming power placed education among its priorities whereas during previous governments period no attention was paid on promotion of education and its quality. Present government was inherited destroyed education system and serious efforts were underway to improve it. Government was engaged in providing free education in all areas of the province day and night.
These views were expressed by Provincial Health Minister Rehmat Saleh Baloch while speaking at inaugural of computer lab established by Excel technology information at APWA Girls School here Monday.
Health Minister said it is our endeavour to fully encourage children in the field of education so that they brighten name of the country and the nation after their education.
He said topmost priority of the provincial government is literate and health Balochistan and practical measures were underway in this direction. After assuming power Chief Minister Dr Abdul Malik Baloch increased education budget to 26 percent from 4 percent. New colleges and Universities are being established in the province. He said through education change can be brought in the country. There is no dearth of talent in our girls and boys. If they are provided appropriate opportunities they can brighten name of the province.
He said all institutions including education department were destroyed during previous regime. No attention was paid on repair of schools in the interior which schools presented scenes of ruined buildings. Government has now made them able to provide standard education at these schools.
He said our government held local bodies elections in the province and its final phase has also been completed. Efforts were underway to restore institutions and schools with elected councilors. He said to materialize dream of educated Balochistan. People from all walks of life should extend cooperation with the government in this connection.
Earlier Talha Shah of Excel Technology Information told that so far computer labs have been setup at 24 government girls and boys schools.
