District Committees to be formed to resolve electricity-related issues of growers

QUETTA: The provincial government has decided to form district level committees to resolve the electricity-related issues of farmers in the province.
The decision to this effect was made during a meeting of the office bearers of Zamindar Action Committees (ZAC) and QESCO’s senior officials, here the other day.
Also present in the meeting were included: Provincial Minister for Information, Law and parliamentarian Affairs, Abdul Rahim Ziaratwal, Provincial Minister, Sardar Aslam Bizenjo, Provincial Home Minister, Mir Sarfraz Ahmed Bugti and member Provincial Assembly, Sardar Dur Muhammad Nasser, besides other concerned senior officials.
As per the decision made in the meeting, the committees would include the Chairman of respective District Council and Municipal Corporation / Committees as well as the Deputy Commissioner and the representatives of ZAC of the respective districts.
The issues of the zamindars due to electricity suspension and load shedding came up for discussion.
Addressing the meeting, the Chief Minister directed to the QESCO authorities to ensure electricity supply to the agricultural consumers for at least eight hours and that with better voltage.
He stressed to expedite the process of legalizing the illegal tube wells and complete it at the earliest.
He asked the QESCO authorities to evolve a standard and comprehensive plan for provision of electricity and recovery of the bills instead of pursuing an adhocism approach in the province.
An effective accountability of the corrupt elements in the QESCO should also be initiated, he stressed further.
