Notices issued to absentee sweepers

QUETTA: Quetta Metropolitan Corporation (QMC) has directed to issue notices to the absentee sweepers and sanitary staff to resume their duties within couple of days, otherwise stern action would be taken against them.
The decision to this effect was made during a meeting of the sanitation committee of the QMC, which was held the other day.
Abdul Manan Durrani presided over the meeting.
It was informed that the notices have been issued to some 609 absentee sweepers as per the orders of the Mayor and Deputy Mayor.
The absentee sweepers were asked to resume their duties within two days in their respective place of duties.
It may be mentioned here that the absentee sweepers are included those missing from their duties for long.
It was decided further that those failed to resume their duties would not be paid their salaries and they would be dismissed from their job.
As per the decision made the Quetta city would be divided into four special zones. The orders have been placed for recruitment of Inspectors and Supervisors.
The groups would be formed as well. Each group would comprise 25 workers, it was decided further.
These gangs would start working immediately. The sanitation committee would supervise the groups to be engaged in the sanitation and cleanliness work.
