QUETTA(PPI): Formation of people friendly policies and use of powers in the best interest of people is basis of good governance. Establishment of industries in the province would not only promote economic sustainability but would also provide vast avenues of employment.
These views were expressed by Balochistan governor Muhammad Khan Achakzai while speaking to19 th Mid Career Management course participants from National Institution of Management (NIM) here Friday.
Delegation was led by Director General NIM Khwaja Owais Adil.
Secretary Finance Mushtaq Raisani, Principal Secretary to Governor Abdul Jabbar and additional Secretary Home Muhammad Tariq Zehri were also present.
Governor told participants of delegation nation pins high hopes in them because they have to shoulder planning in various areas and financial matters. Therefore they should play their role by mobilizing all their energies for the uplift of the people.
He said present provincial government was taking priority measures for further strengthening and stabilizing local bodies system. Participation fo newly elected representatives of local bodies in development projects and their guidance these projects could be completed in time and help resolve problems of people and their difficulties.
Governor said there are difficulties in extending educational facilities in far flung areas of the province. There is need to increase literacy ratio and control drop out at the primary level. Sound basis at the primary level can pave way for quality education at the higher level. It would not only increase rate of literacy but it would also have positive impacts on country?s progress and prosperity. He said Balochistan is providing gas to other provinces of the country since 1950. Unfortunately several districts of this province are deprived of this facility.
He called upon national newspapers and TV Chanel to give proper coverage to provincial government performance and difficulties and problems of the people fo the province.
Governor Achakzai said for promotion of national cohesion it is necessary we should take all along.
He said Balochistan is the largest province of the country area-wise but its population is scattered and thus there are several difficulties in access with the people in far flung areas and development. He said sincerity, sense of responsibility and service of officers has led to overcome all difficulties.
