Health Minister-Anti measles drive

TAMBOO(PPI): Twelve-day anti measles drive commencing Monday would vaccinate 3.3 million children in Balochistan including Quetta. People should cooperate with health teams to vaccinate their children on anti measles during the campaign.
This was stated by provincial health minister Rehmat Saleh Baloch while speaking to Nasirabad journalists by telephone Sunday.
He told newsmen that provincial government has evolved a comprehensive strategy to overcome problems of health and decided to take practical and concrete measures. Under this special attention was being paid to improve health of children. He said measles spread was becoming a serious problem. To overcome this special anti measles drive was being launched from April 13 in the province which would continue for 12 days. Three point three million children of ages 6 months to 10 years would be injected on anti measles vaccine.
Ninety four mobile, 2140 outreach and 493 fixed teams will participate during the drive.
He said Balochistan Chief Minister Dr Abdul Malik Baloch has earmarked Rupees 137 million for this special drive. He said it is very important campaign and we appeal to all the parents and people in the province to help us for the success of this campaign. He said this is communicable disease which transfers to a child from another. This curable diseases and if children are injected on anti measles vaccine they can be saved from this disease because they are future of the nation.
