Colourful Spring Festival heldin QIMS Wife of Commander SC praises talent of students; says province’s students equally talented and hardworking, just need desired opportunities and facilities

QUETTA: The colourful Spring Festival was held at the Quetta Institute of Medical Sciences (QIMS) Quetta cantonment the other day.
The wife of Commander Southern Command, Mrs. Lt. General Nasir Khan Janjua was the chief guest at the opening ceremony. Also accompanied with him were the Mrs. Major General Zahid Hameed, Mrs. Major General Majid Ehsan, Commandant Combined Military Hospital (CMH) Queeta Cantonment, Brigadier Muhammad Junaid Khan, his wife, the event organizer, Ms. Shazia Allauddin. Also participated in the ceremony was by the heads of different departments of QIMS, senior faculty members, besides a large number of students of the Institute.
Different events were organized on the occasion in which the students participated wholeheartedly demonstrating wonderful performance. Stalls of various items were also set up in the Institute.
Addressing the ceremony, the chief guest Mrs. Commander Southern Command appreciated the healthy activity and participation of the students in it. She commended that the students and the organizers made the event successful with their wonderful performance and participation.
She said that it is a matter of pleasure for her to participate in the Jashne Baharan organized by QIMS.
She said that a healthy body bears a healthy mind, so students should also take part in healthy activities.
Mrs. Lt. General Nasir Janjua also said that participation in such activities is necessary for the students because they help groom them mentally and physically.
She praised the standard of stalls set up in connection with the Festival at QIMS. She believed that the QIMS would once emerge as the best institution imparting medical education to the students in the country.
She on the occasion mentioned that the Commander Southern Command could not make it to attend the event of Jashne Baharan, and if he was there, he would have been very happy.
She noted that there’s no dearth of talent in our youth, what they need just proper guidance and desired opportunities and facilities.
The students of the province are equally talented and hard working what they need desired facilities to progress further, she stressed.
Earlier, the Commandant CMH welcomed the guest participants in the event and said that the extra curricular activities are also being arranged in the Institute in addition to the curricula ones just to involve the students in healthy and competitive activities.
Principal of the QIMS, Professor Arbab Abdul Wadood also addressed the ceremony.
He said that QIMS is equipped with the modern facilities of the medical education and science where senior faculty members teach. Since the medical’s is a tough education so the extra curricula activities are arranged to engaged them for their mental grooming and recreation, so may not bore, he said.
Later, the wife of Commander Southern Command visited the main library of the QIMS where its Principal, Professor Arbab Abdul Wadood briefed her about the facilities available there.
