QUETTA(PPI): Taking Turbat incident seriously government has reviewed security arrangements fresh and established fusion cell at Division level where Commissioner, Commandant Frontier Corps, RPO and representatives of all intelligence agencies would coordinate. Security forces operation against criminal elements would continue in the province.
This was stated by Provincial Home Minister Sarfraz Ahmed Bugti while briefing Newsmen on the decisions of meeting held under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Dr Abdul Malik Baloch at CM Secretariat here Thursday.
Spokesman of provincial government Jan Muhammad Buledi and Adviser to Chief Minister Khalid Langav were also present.
Home Minister said after Turbat incident provincial government held a meeting with Chief Minister in the chair and reviewed security measures in the province afresh. Commander southern Command, IG FC, all Divisional Commissioners, DPOs and heads of various departments and representatives attended. It followed a meeting of elders of coalition allies by Commander Southern Command a fusion cell was setup at Quetta for coordination among all security and law enforcement agencies including intelligence agencies, police, levies, Balochistan constabulary, representatives of FC. Government has succeeded to establish peace by 40 percent in Quetta and Khuzdar. He said fusion cell has also been setup in Loralai. He lauded efforts fo Commander southern Command for setting up fusion cell and developing better coordination among agencies.
Admitting negligence of security in Turbat incident government decided to establish fusion cell at the divisional level under first phase followed by district levels so that all agencies jointly ensure elimination of crimes by maintaining peace in the province.
Sarfraz Bugti dispelled the impression that no preparation was underway for operation in any part of Balochistan. Army is a pillar of State. If government realises it would not hesitate using Army for establishing peace. But he made it clear terrorists are not capable enough that army is used against. Only FC, Levies and police were conducting search operations.
Home Minister said following functioning of local bodies system, Mayors, Deputy Mayors, Chairmen and local bodies representatives will also be taken on board to keep them busy for effective security.
Answering a question he said Turbat incident is a major tragedy and Pak Army chief also felt this grief and came here to increase e moral of forces and assured all sorts of cooperation to the government. He aid Pak army is with the government about peace.
Replying to a question about Turbat incident Sarfraz Bugti said Chief Minister has constituted joint action committee headed by RPO which would give its report within 7 days. Medial would be informed of this report.
Replying to another question he said forces were righting terrorists in Loralai. It is whether north or south there is coordination among intelligence agencies and security agencies. Security arrangements have been reviewed again so that it yields positive results. He said five people were killed and two arrested in Turbat operation. He aid owing to better strategy of government and agencies 40 percent peace has been reported in the province.
