QUETTA: The Secretary Home, Akbar Hussain Durrani has expressed the government’s strong resolve to shift all the bus terminals operating in different parts of the city to Hazar Ganjiarea.
This resolve, he expressed while talking to the office bearers of the Quetta Chamber of Commerce and Industry (QCCI) here the other day.
Akbar Durrani had detailed discussion with the Chamber leaders over different issues related to business, commerce and industry.
He on the occasion mentioned that while the fruit and vegetable markets and truck addahs (terminals) have already been shifted to Hazar Ganji, now it is turn for the city bus and coaches terminals including those Quetta-Karachi route ones to be shifted to Hazar Ganji.
No discrimination would be made with any one in this regard, he made it clear to the chamber leaders.
The Secretary Home also mentioned that all necessary facilities are made available for the truck owners, traders and shopkeepers in Hazar Ganji, and so the bus and coach owners would also be provided necessary facilities in the same manner.
He said that the government decided not to operate the bus and coaches from the city area and as such they have to be shifted at all cost.
Nevertheless the shifting of bus and coach terminals to Hazar Ganji would help address the issue of traffic congestion which is becoming serious in the city.
The general public would also get relief with lessening the traffic jamming after shifting of the bus and coach terminals, the Secretary Home maintained.
