Goods transporters for improving condition of highways

QUETTA: Balochistan Goods Truck Owners Association has demanded of the National Highway Authority (NHA) to pay attention towards improvement of the dilapidated condition of the highways in the province.
In a joint statement issued here, President of the Association, Noor Muhammad Shahwani and General Secretary, Sorat Khan Kakar pointed out towards the deteriorating condition of the Quetta-Taftan, Quetta-Sibi, Quetta-Qila Saifullah-Loralai-Dera Ghazi Khan road and said that their condition is causing accidents claiming colossal human loses.
The concerned authorities should pay attention towards the issue and take immediate steps for improvement in the highways, the leaders of the Good Transporters demanded.
They also diverted attention of the Chief Minister, Chief Secretary and authorities of the Motorway Police towards the issue of what it termed the unfair treatment of the motorway police with the goods transporters.
They charged that the truck walas are being chalanned and charged with heavy fines, which is an unfair.
The authorities must take notice of the situation coming to their rescue, they demanded.
