MNA inaugurates Art & Culture festival

Islamabad Sep. 21 (Online): Malik Ibrar MNA on Saturday visited and inaugurated the 17-day Art & Culture festival, organized jointly by Lok Virsa in collaboration with Media Network (pvt) Ltd.

Although the festival has been declared open since Friday, however, the formal inauguration was carried out by Mr. Ibrar.


Artistically designed pavilions gates and arches, an artisans-at-work exhibition, folkloric song & dance ensembles, rural musicians, exotic cultural performances, craft bazaar as well as children amusements such as merry-go-round, boat swing, etc. were the special features of the festival.

On Malik Ibrar’s arrival, he was warmly received by Khalid Javaid, executive director amid beating of the drums and a performance of traditional dancers from Multan called ‘Dharees dancers’. ED Lok Virsa showed him round the festival and visited various stalls featuring more than 30 artisans hailing from different parts of the country and showing their expertise to the visitors. Due to holiday, a large number of residents of twin cities of
Rawalpindi-Islamabad, in particular women and children thronged the festival.

Malik Ibrar took keen interest in the festival and greatly enjoyed the stalls of traditional art & craft, song and dance performances.


With all its festivities, the art & culture festival will continue to offer the visitors a variety of activities and entertainment till 6th October 2013 daily between 3.00 to 10.00 p.m.
