QUETTA Sep 21 (PPI): Police has tightened noose against criminals in Quetta City. A man abducted from Quetta airport and released after payment of ransom was recovered. Three abductors were arrested along with money and weapon.
This was stated by Capital City Police Officer Zuber Mahmood at a Press conference here Saturday. DIG Syed Mobin shah was also present.
CCPO said 58 cases of abduction for ransom were registered last year. Of these 47 were recovered. Remaining 18 cases have also been traced.
He said Police made efforts for the recovery of abducted Haji Mirza Khan Khroti after payment of ransom. Two abductors Muhammad Ishaq Tareen and Daro Khan Achakzai were arrested in Nohisar area while coming to Quetta from Kuchlak after exchange of fire. On their indication police arrested their third accomplice. They confessed of their involvement in incidents of abduction for ransom and received the money at Afghan border.
CCPO appealed to the people to keep vigil around them and in from police immediately so that society is cleansed of criminals.
CCPO said two more groups of abduction for ransom were active in Quetta and police was making strides for their arrest.
He said to provide security to 2.7 million souls in Quetta only six thousand police men were working.
Answering a question he said Pakistan Army was imparting most modern phase wise training to policemen and personnel of Balochistan constabulary to overcome terrorism. He said ammunition and rounds were being arranged by Pak Army during training of policemen. Pakistan Army has also provided one thousand SMG.
Answering another question about former Nazim District Quetta he said most of investigation in his case has been completed but final challan has not been field in the court.
Answering yet another question CCPO told that Dr Munaf Tareen would be recovered soon as his abductors have been identified. In view of security and harm to doctor no details can be provided at this stage. He said police efforts have bore result in the suicide attack in Police lines and soon public would be given good news.
