Power connections of 52 defaulters disconnected on non-payment

QUETTA: The connections of some 52 defaulters of the Quetta Electric Supply Company (QESCO) were cut off in Khaliqabad Mangochar area as the Company’s crackdown against the non-payers continued at a fast pace in different parts of the province.
According to the QESCO sources, a team comprising the Sub Divisional Officer, Zulfiqar Manjho, Line Superintendent, Bashir Muhammad Shahi and other concerned staff under the supervision of Executive Engineer Kalat, Syed Asif Shah raided in the Sub-Division Khaliqaabad Mangochar and took action against the defaulters of the electricity bills and their arrears.
During the crackdown, six transformers of the defaulters were removed from the area. Similarly, two transformers of the agricultural consumers were also removed on the occasion.
Needless to mention here is that millions of rupees are outstanding against the defaulters in the Mangochar Khaliqabad and other areas of the province.
The QESCO had launched the campaign with the aim to recover the dues from the defaulters. It had been decided to cut off the power connections of the defaulters in case they failed in clearing the dues outstanding against them.
The QESCO authorities have appealed to the consumers to pay their bills on regular basis so that they may not face any issue.
Moreover, the defaulters have also been asked to clear their dues otherwise they would not be supplied electricity.
