QUETTA: Chief Secretary Balochistan, Saifullah Chattha has directed to the concerned authorities to prepare a comprehensive plan to resolve the issue of water crisis in Quetta city.
This directive, he issued while chairing a meeting on the water shortage in Quetta city here the other day.
Also attended the meeting was by the Member Provincial Assembly from Quetta city, Miss Rahila Hameed Khan Durrani, Additional Chief Secretary (Development), Naseebullah Khan Bazai, Secretary Public Health Engineering Department, Commissioner Quetta Division and Managing Director Water and Sanitation Authority (WASA).
The Chief Secretary said that water is a great blessing of Allah for the human being. We should ensure just use of water, he stressed.
He expressed his deep concern over water shortage in the metropolis and pointed out that it has been aggravated due to the existence of the illegal tube wells and lack of better planning for the water supply.
We would have to take steps on an emergent basis to resolve the issue, the Chief Secretary stressed further.
He also directed to take prompt action on the complaints of the people regarding shortage of water besides against the tanker mafia.
He also directed to the WASA authorities to prepare a plan for supply of electricity to the tube wells so that the citizens may not suffer due to the power shut down during water supply hours.
The strict implementation on the plan should be made as well, he directed further.
