QUETTA: The Central Command and Control System has been introduced in order to eliminate terrorism and maintain law and order situation in the provincial metropolis.
Under the system, the general public would have the facility to call on Helpline 1135 in case of any emergent situation and particularly in the incidents of terrorism and other crimes.
According to an official sources, the initiative has been taken in view of the terrorism incidents and other crimes in the city.
The general public has been asked to contact the Helpline 1135 introduced under the Central Command and Control System.
The personnel of the police and other concerned law enforcement agencies would reach at the spot within 5-7 minutes in case of any emergency. The public would also be able to contact the Helpline in case of any suspicious thing or happening in their respective localities.
Moreover, certain other steps have also been taken to prevent acts of terrorism and ensure peace in the city.
While installation of 200 barriers has been made in different parts of the city, CCTV cameras would also be installed to keep a vigil on the law and order situation.
As many as 200 personnel would be deployed at the barriers fixed at different parts of the city to check movement of the terrorist elements and other criminals.
It has been planned to install 83 CCTV cameras in different parts of the city with majority of them to be installed at the entry and exit points, the sources said. The installation of CCTV cameras would be made in two phases, the sources informed.
While on the other hand, it has also been planned to create awareness among the general public through banners to be placed at various locations.
At least 100 banners are being placed at various places in the city, the sources maintained.
In addition to that, the patrolling of the motorcycle falcon visit has also been started in the metropolis.
Needless to mention here is that the Balochistan police is doing its best to counter terrorism and other criminal activities and ensure peace in the city despite the limited resources.
In this context, the police officers and personnel have also rendered sacrifice of their lives.
However, it has been insisted that the public cooperation is also must to maintain law and order.
So, it would be supportive in case the public intimate the Police and other concerned agencies through the Helpline timely.
