PMD predicts more rain

ISLAMABAD, Jul 22 :Pakistan Meteorological Department
(PMD) on Wednesday forecast more rain in most parts of the country
during next 24 hours.
More widespread rain-thundershower is expected in Sindh
including Karachi, Hyderabad and Mirpurkhas divisions and at scattered places in Kashmir, Malakand, Hazara, Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Gujranwala, Lahore, Faisalabad, Sahiwal, Bahawalpur, DG.Khan, Zhob, Sibbi, Kalat, Naseerabad, Makran divisions whereas at isolated places in FATA, Quetta, Peshawar, Mardan, Kohat, D.I.Khan, Sargodha divisions and Gilgit-Baltistan, said a spokesman of PMD.
He said, a well marked seasonal low lies over southwest
Balochistan and its adjoining areas with its trough extending south-
eastward. Monsoon currents are continuously penetrating into upper
and south eastern parts of the country and likely to continue during
the current week.
He warned that due to unstable weather conditions and
significant monsoon rains there would be risk of flash flooding in
the local streams and nullahs of Punjab, upper KP, eastern
Balochistan and Kashmir during next 3 days.
He advised people living in low lying areas along the streams
and nullahs to remain careful during next 48 hours.
He said scattered heavy fall is expected in Thatha, Badin and Sajwal
during next 24 hours to 36 hours. Due to heavy fall there is risk of flash flooding in Karachi during the period.

Badin 8mm, Sahiwal 7mm, Okara 6mm, M.B.Din, Sialkot Cantt 5mm,
Faisalabad 4mm and Gujranwala 3mm.
