QUETTA: The sports and other healthy activities help groom the younger generation mentally and physically besides refraining them from the negative activities and certain social evils.
This and similar views were expressed by the Minority Member Provincial Assembly belonging to Pashtoonkhaw Milli Awami Party (PkMAP), William Barkat while addressing the prize distribution ceremony of final of All Quetta Khan Abdul Samad Khan Shaheed Cricket Tournament at Nawan Killi the other day. William Barkat, who also happens to be the senior member of PkMAP, was the chief guest.
He said that it is an honour for him to be chief guest at the ceremony attributed to a very prominent personality of the sub-contingent.
He appreciated the tournament and said that such activities are important for youth. So, they must take part in them, adding he stressed.
Later, he gave away the prizes to the players of winning and other participating teams. He also gave away a cheque of Rs. 50,000 to the organizers for holding the cricket tournament.
