Medical experts for creating awareness against use of narcotics

QUETTA: The medical experts have underlined the need to create awareness among the general public about ill effects of narcotics, which is otherwise is eating the very fabric of society like termite.
They said that it is possible for the people to get rid of the narcotics curse, but they would need strong will for the purpose.
This and similar views were expressed by the Assistant Professor of Bolan Medical College, Dr. Khan Muhammad Babar, Assistant Professor Dr. Dr. Munir Ahmed, Senior Registrar, Dr. Saleh Tareen and Senior Registrar, Phycology department and others while addressing a seminar on prevention of narcotics and other stuff here the other day.
They said that the drugs play havoc with the human body, so one should refrain from falling prey into them. The use of drugs is a major sin, so it is also religious and moral obligation to be away from the same, they stressed. The medical professionals were particularly concerned about that the youth are falling prey into the curse of drugs. We need to create awareness among the people about ill effects of narcotics. However, those addicts need proper attention and treatment facilities so that they are brought back towards life after rehabilitation, they stressed.
The drug addicts should also be provided a conducive and pleasant environment for cure from the addiction, they maintained.
The medical practitioners also called on the parents to pay attention on education of their children ensuring that they are not indulged in any negative activity or social evils.
