QUETTA: The Governor Balochistan, Muhammad Khan Achakzai has called on the Chairman and members of the District Councils, Municipal Committees and its other formations to serve the masses of their respective areas without any discrimination.
He was speaking to different delegations of representatives of the local bodies as well as tribal elders and others in Ziarat separately the other day.
While Sardar Qasim Khan Sarangzai led the delegation of the tribal elders from Ziarat, Sardar Habibur Rehman Dummar led the delegation of Pashtoonkhaw Milli Awami Party, Sanjavi and Chairman Ziarat District Council, Mir Wais Khan led the delegation of members of the District Council and Chairman of the Union Councils. Similarly, the delegation of PkMAP Tehsil Ziarat met the Governor under leadership of Shah Zaman.
The issues of Ziarat came up for discussion during the course of meetings.
The Governor on the occasion said that that the people have elected representatives of local bodies, and as such it is their responsibility now to serve them beyond their party affiliations.
The local bodies representatives could play better role in ensuring attendance of the concerned staff in the schools, hospitals and other health establishments in addition to other government offices, the Governor stressed further.
The Governor gave a patient hearing to the issues raised by members of different delegations calling him in Ziarat.
He gave approval to one loader for Sanjavi city. Moreover, he directed to the Executive Engineer of Public Health Engineering (PHE) department for approval of a water supply scheme in Sanjavi Tehsil.
In this regard, the necessary PC-I should be prepared immediately, he directed further.
He also directed to the concerned high ups for preparation of the PC-I approving the water supply scheme in Union Council Ziarat Killi Wacha Ghoski and Killi Bistargai.
He said that it is his endeavour to ensure potable water supply in areas of the province particularly where it is not available.
As the Governor was also informed about shortage of doctors and medical staff in the District Headquarter Hospital Ziarat, he assured to resolve the issue on priority basis.
It was pointed out by the members of delegation from Ziarat that only one Medical Officer is serving in the DHQ Hospital while other vacancies are lying vacant there.
They sought the role of Governor in this regard.
