FIRs to be lodged against cheaters and facilitators

QUETTA: Necessary arrangements have been made to tackle the issue of cheating in the supplementary examinations of Matriculation, which started from Tuesday all over the Balochistan province including Quetta.
This was stated by the Secretary Secondary Education, Abdul Saboor Kakar while chairing a meeting on prevention of cheating in the Matric exams here the other day.
He said that the entire Education department, Balochistan Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education and the district administration has been put on high alert with regard to elimination of cheating from the examinations.
He warned that no one would be spared in this regard and legal action would be taken against them.
He announced that the FIRs would be lodged against those found while cheating in the examinations as well as those involved in facilitating them.
He said that the honest and impartial supervisory staff have been deployed in the examination centers to conduct the Matriculation supplementary examinations. Even then, if there were complaints regarding cheating, the action would be taken against the concerned staff, the Secretary Secondary Education asserted.
He said that complaints regarding cheating in the examinations can be registered with the complaint cell of the Education Department at the following number: 081-111098765. The complaints can be lodged between 09:00 AM to 08:00 PM.
The prompt action would be taken on the complaints to be lodged, he assured.
He urged the parents and other segments of the society to cooperate in prevention of the menace of cheating.
The Secretary Secondary Education also announced that the officers of the department would pay surprise visits of the exam centers.
Section 144 imposed:
Meanwhile, the Provincial Department of Home and Tribal Affairs has announced that entry of the unauthorized persons has been banned within the limits of 100 yards of all the examination centers located all over the province during the supplementary examinations of Matric (SSC).
According to the notification issued here by the Home and Tribal Affairs department, the ban has been imposed under section 144. Moreover, the shops of photo state located in surrounding areas of the exam centers would also remain closed during 09:00 AM to 12:00 PM and from 02:00 to 05:00 PM.
