ZHOB: Six abducted employees of Balochistan Development Authority have been released in Afghanistan’s Paktika province, sources said on Thursday.
“The release of abductees was made possible through the efforts of local tribesmen in Sharan area of Paktika province”, a family member of one of the abducted employee said.
It is to be mentioned that unidentified armed men had kidnapped six employees of Balochistan Development Authority (BDA) including General Manager Bacha Khan Kharoty who belong to Zhob district from Murgha Faqirzai area along Pak-Afghan border on Sunday.
Security sources had said that militants had intercepted the vehicle of BDA officials including GM, SDOs, Contractor and a driver, as they were inspecting an under-construction Nasai Road and taken them away.
Earlier this year, nine including a clerk at Balochistan Assembly were kidnapped, while they were traveling from Quetta to Zhob. The armed men had stopped a passenger bus, checked the national identity cards and forced the five men off the vehicle. Four others men including an Air Force officer traveling in a 2D car from Islamabad to Quetta via Zhob were also kidnapped on the same day. However, two of them were freed, but the bullet-riddled body of PAF officer was found near Gwal area along Quetta highway. Tehreek Taliban Balochistan chapter had claimed responsibility for the kidnapping.
