Standing Committee dismayed over slow speed of dev. schemes

QUETTA: The Standing Committee of Balochistan Assembly for Housing and Planning, Communication and Works has expressed its dismay over slow pace of work on some schemes of construction of roads, buildings, fly over, drainage in Quetta and other parts of the province.
The committee, which was met with its chairman, Manzoor Ahmed Kakar in the chair here the other day, directed to the concerned department to improve further its performance.
It may be mentioned here that it was introductory meeting of the Standing Committee, which was also attended by its member, Sardar Saleh Muhammad Bhotani, Additional Secretary Committees, Shamsuddin, Deputy Secretary, Zahir Shah and Technical Advisor of the C&W, Abdul Jabbar.
The participants were briefed about the overall functions of the departments and different projects being executed in different sectors.
The Standing Committee on the occasion assured to extend wholehearted assistance to the department to resolve the issues being faced by it.
It was conveyed that the projects being executed by the departments concerned would be reviewed and the quality of work would be checked.
The Chairman directed to improve quality of work in the ongoing development projects.
