Shaheed Hakeem Saeed remembered, paid rich tributes on services for ailing humanity

QUETTA: The great personality of the country, Hakeem Muhammad Saeed was remembered at a ceremony arranged here the other day.
The ceremony was arranged by Anjuman-e-Adab Balochistan at the Taameer-e-Nau Public School marking death anniversary of Hakeem Muhammad Saeed, a renowned scholar, and philanthropist of Pakistan and a former Governor of Sindh.
The retired senior bureaucrat, Mehfooz Ali Khan presided over the ceremony while the famous writer and intellectual Agha Gul was the chief guest.
Also participated in the ceremony was by the Members of Provincial Assembly, Dr. Ruqaya Saeed Hashmi and Dr. Shama Ishaq Baloch, representative of the Hamdard Foundation, Ali Bokhari, Director Youth Affairs, Afzal Sulehri, President of Anjuman-e-Adab, Irfanul Haq Saim, General Secretary Ms. Tasneem Sanam and others.
Hakeem Muhammad Saeed was martyred on October 17, 1998. He had established Hamdard Foundation in 1948.
Within few years, the herbal medical products of Hamdard became household names. Hakim Muhammad Saeed wrote about 200 books. These include books on religion, tibb (natural medicine), health and sciences, books on literary, social and scientific topics and travelogues.
The speakers paid homage to Hakeem Muhammad Saeed for the valuable services he rendered for the cause of ailing humanity in the country.
The great services, he rendered would always be remembered, adding the speakers commended.
It was a great loss to the humanity when Hakeem Sahib was gunned down, the speakers regretfully pointed out. It is sorrowful that such a nice personality was brutally killed, they maintained.
The President of Anjuman-e-Adab presented his poetry attributing to Hakeem Saeed.
Earlier, the message of daughter of Hakeem Saeed and President of Hamdard Foundation, Ms. Sadia Rashid was also read on the occasion.
