QUETTA Oct 15 (PPI): A total of 293.7 tonnes of drugs were burnt in drug burning ceremony here Thursday.
According to details Anti narcotics Force, Frontier Corps Balochistan, Levies Force, Counties Terrorism Department and Pakistan Railways police organised a joint drug burning ceremony at Kach Morr here today. A total fo 293.7 tonnes of drugs were burnt. This cost billions of Rupee sin the international market.
Inspector General Frontier Corps Balochistan Major General Sher Afgun was the chief guest on the occasion.
Burnt drugs included Charas 150.75 tonnes, Opium 70.66 tonnes, Heroin 11.36 tonnes, Morphine 1.33 tonnes, cannabis 46.77 tonnes and Morphine injections 888.
Besides 11.13 tonnes of chemical, 4173 bottles of liquor ad 502 tins of beer were also destroyed on the occasion.
It is added here that Opium cultivated over 1085.19 acres of land in District Loralai and district Killa Abdullah was also destroyed in joint action by ANF and FC during the current year.
Durign the current year ANF during its 61 raids seized over 116 tonnes of drugs and arrested 11 accused.
