DKT Pakistan conducts first ever CMW training in Quetta

QUETTA Oct 15 (PPI): DKT Pakistan hosted first of its kind training program over a three day period in Quetta.
DKT International is one of the largest private providers of family planning and reproductive health products and services in the developing world, having served 28 million couples in 2014.
DKT Pakistan has identified and begun the steps necessary to reach Pakistani couples and more than 6 million women (24% of married women of reproductive age) with unmet needs for contraception, which will enable customers and health providers to have more choices for high quality products with regular access to family planning training and education.
October 13 to 15 marked the first ever training session conducted with community mid wives (CMW) in Quetta by the DKT Pakistan team. At the closing ceremony of the event held a local hotel in quetta, Ms. Ambareen Thompson Deputy Managing Director DKT Pakistan, while addressing the audience said: “Our teams are working across the country to not only train CMWs in proper mother and child healthcare practices but they are also helping raise awareness regarding family planning methods among the general public through specially planned and interesting activities. We stand firmly by the Government of Balochistan in reducing maternal and neo natal mortality and in meeting the FP 2020 goals. We are proud to have conducted a first of its kind training session in Quetta and look forward to planning more such activities in the province.” With these comments, Ms. Ambareen also thanked MNCH for their continuous support.
Abdul Wahid Baloch Provincial Director MNCH Balochistan and Chaker Riaz Baloch Deputy Provincial Director MNCH Balochistan, were also present at the event. They said that such types of collaborations for the improvement of family planning services should be encouraged at all levels. They thanked the DKT Pakistan team for conducting such an activity in the city.
The closing ceremony included a certificate distribution to all the trainees followed by refreshments.
