Russian Ambassador meets Governor

QUETTA Oct 18 (PPI): Moving forward in the context of regional cooperation for peace and development is must and for this there is no option for the countries in the reigon including Pakistan.
This was stated by Balochistan governor Muhammad Khan Achakzai while speaking with Russian Ambassador Alexey Dedou who called on him at Governor House here Sunday.
Matters relation to situation in the region and Pakistan and bilateral relations between two countries were exchanged during the meeting.
Governor Achakzai termed relations with Russia as improving and stabilizing as good sign and said that Russia is an emerging important force and economy in the region. He said with its cooperation there are vast opportunities for overcoming energy crisis and exploring new vistas. He said Balochistan is the second largest province of Pakistan which is rich in natural resources particularly mineral resources. But we lack in resources to exploit these resources. He said with cooperation of developed country as Russia we can mobilise these opportunities in different sectors for bright future of our people. He said in the past we had set up basic industry Steel Mills with the cooperation of former USSR and present Russia. We are sure there will be solid advancement in different sectors owing to revival of our relations with Russian. He expressed the hope that economic and commercial activities in the region would benefit developed and developing countries alike and a new era of prospers and prosperity would usher in.
Russian Ambassador Alexey Dedou urged the need for further strengthening relations between two countries and expressed interest in overcoming emergency crisis in Pakistan particularly extending cooperation in exploration of mines in Balochistan. He said there are close relations through Shangai Cooperation Organisation but there is dire need for expanding cooperation in different sectors between two countries. Pakistan can play important role in bringing peace in the region. He said positive outcome coming from Operation Zarb e Azb which is good sign.
