Women’s role in socio- economic progress vital: Saraparh

QUETTA: The Director Labour Department, Saeed Ahmed Sarparah has stated that women plays key role in socio-economic development of any area, and so they are playing in Balochistan province.
This and similar views, he expressed while addressing a ceremony arranged in collaboration of the NGO namely Balochistan Educational and Environmental Journey (BEEJ) and USAID here at the Officers’ Club the other day.
The event was aimed at encouraging the skilled home-based workers and providing them the opportunity to them to show off their skills and thus earn a respectable livelihood for them and their families.
Stalls of the home-made handicrafts and other domestic products were set up on the occasion.
The Director Labour maintained that there is no dearth of talent in our women, what’s needed is to provide them the desired opportunities to show their skills and talent.
He said that there is a proposal to set up a factory for the skilled women. This would help improve their talent, he hoped.
It would also help them market their products at the national and international level, the Director Labour maintained.
Other speakers including head of BEEJ, Syed Qurban Gharsheen also termed such activities very useful for the women home-based workers.
They said that the basic objective behind organizing such events is to encourage the home-based workers in the province.
The women workers would get a boost through these events, they believed.
