Secretaries’ Committee meets: Rs. 51 billion allocated for various schemes during FY 2015-16

QUETTA: Chief Secretary Balochistan, Saifullah Chattha has directed to expedite the pace of development works in the province so as to ensure their timely completion.
He also directed to ensure strict monitoring of the work to maintain its quality.
Mr. Chattha was chairing a meeting of the secretaries’ committee here the other day.
The Additional Chief Secretary (Development), Naseebullah Khan Bazai and Senior Member Board of Revenue (MBR), Qamar Masood besides all the secretaries were in attendance at the meeting.
The ACS (Development) on the occasion briefed the meeting about development schemes and the allocations made for them.
He informed that Rs. 51 billion have been allocated for different schemes during the financial year 2015-16.
The funds of Rs. 19.5 billion are allocated for the ongoing 940 schemes while Rs. 31.5 billion are allocated for 1310 new development schemes in the province.
Addressing the meeting, the Chief Secretary directed to speed up the pace of development on the schemes.
He also directed to the secretaries to conduct the Progress Review Meetings with the Planning and Development Department on the monthly basis so as to resolve the issues related to the schemes and release of funds.
Moreover, he also directed to ensure transparency in recruitments in all the provincial government departments.
All the recruitments should be made on merit negating the nepotism and safarish culture in this regard, the Chief Secretary directed.
