QUETTA Oct 23 (PPI): Yom e Ashur the 10 the of Muharramul Haram would be observed in Quetta and other parts of Balochistan with due religious fervor and solemnity Saturday.
They day is observed in supreme sacrifice of grandson of Holy Prophet Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him) Hazrat Imam Hussain (RA) and his companions who laid down their lives for the glory of Islam at Karbala 1400 years ago.
The day would be marked by taking out Ashura processions in various parts of the province including Quetta. Main procession would be taken out from Alamdar road. Processions from Mach, Dera Murad Jamali, Nasirabad and other areas have reached Quetta to join main procession. Small processions form different parts of City would join the procession at 8 in the morning.
More than seven thousand personnel of FC, Police, Levies, Balochistan constabulary, Anti Terrorists Force and Counter Terrorism Force have been deployed for the security on Ashura Day. Army has also been put on higher alert to meet any eventuality. Ashura procession would also be monitored aerially by helicopters.
Mobile phone service would remain suspended from 8 am till 10 pm.
Entire route of procession would be searched by snuffer dogs and modern equipments.
Security forces personnel continued checking and patrolling of city today.
Procession would have stay at Meezan Chowk where Ulema and others would address mourners. They would also offer zohar prayers at the spot.
Mourners would carry out chest beat while moving alongn traditional route of procession Alamdar road, Toghi road, Chowk Mission road, Liaqat Bazar, Prince road and end at Imam Bargah Nasirul Aza in the vening. Processionswold then leave for their respective imam bargahs where majlis e Shame Ghariban would be held.
Balochistan Chief Minister Dr Abdul Malik Baloch inspected route of Ashura procession and its security arrangements here today. He reviewed security arrangements fo procession along its route and on its dies. He asked questions from security personnel at Meezan chowk, Meconghy road and other places and also talked to the people.
Chief Minister also met with President Balochistan Shia conference Daud Agha and others. MPA Tahir Mahmood, Chief Secretary Saifullah Chatha, Home Secretary Akbar Hussain Durrani, IG Police Muhammad Amlish, Principal Secretary Muhammad Naseem Lehri, Commissioner Quetta Division Qambar Dashti and others were also present on the occasion.
Malik Baloch directed Police, Security and law enforcement agencies officers and officials to remain alert during Muharramul Haram for maintaining law and order. He also asked people to immediately inform law enforcement agencies of any suspected thing and person.
