QUETTA: The Provincial Minister for Health, Mir Rehmat Saleh Baloch has stated that the provincial government is making all-out efforts to achieve the targets of Maternal, Neonatal and Child Health (MNCH) Programme in the province.
In this regard, it is our earnest desire and sincere endeavour to provide every possible healthcare to the mothers and children, maintained the Minister while addressing the closing ceremony of two-day workshop on the health of mother and child here the other day.
The Deputy Opposition Leader in the provincial assembly, Engineer Zamarak Khan Achakzai, Member Provincial Assembly, Dr. Shama Ishaq Baloch, Secretary Health, Noorul Haq Baloch and others.
Addressing the ceremony, the Minister Health said that our people have the habit of making criticism on others but they don’t do the right job themselves.
He stressed that we have to do away with that tendency and have to discharge our duties well with the missionary zeal.
The Health Minister urged the doctors and other health department officials to perform with responsibility so as to deliver the goods to the ailing humanity.
He also said that the provincial government is endeavouring to provide necessary healthcare facilities to the masses.
But, a few elements are making false propaganda instead of encouraging the government to serve the people rather with extra zeal, he regretfully pointed out.
It is an unfair to criticize the government baselessly, he lamented.
Mir Rehmat Baloch applauded the doctors and other medical staff for rendering good services following the bomb blast occurred in a bus on Sariab road last week.
Zamarak Khan Achakzai on the occasion said that the province is confronting the issues of health and education, and until and unless the basic issues are resolved, we can’t progress.
He said that Mir Rehmat Baloch is doing good as the Health Minister, however, he needs to improve further, and for the purpose, we would extend wholehearted cooperation to him, he vowed.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Shama Ishaq regretfully pointed out that the ratio of maternal and infants is the highest in Balochistan as compared to other parts of the country.
Our mothers die during delivery just because of the lack of facilities and awareness, she maintained.
She noted with concern that majority of doctors were reluctant to serve in the rural areas, however, things are improving now, she added.
