Secretary Provincial Transport Authority: Govt. taking steps to develop transport on sound footing

QUETTA: The provincial government is taking steps to bring improvement in transport sector in the province. All available resources are being mobilized to develop the transport sector on sound footings in view of the modern day needs, stated the Secretary Provincial Transport Authority (PTA), Abdul Khaliq Mandokhail during inspection of condition of the transport and other facilities available at different bus, coaches and wagon terminals in the city.
The Secretary PTA inspected the terminals and facilities available particularly at the buses of the Quetta-Karachi route. Also present on the occasion were the Focal Person, Jan Muhammad Hassani and transporters of Karachi route.
He said that better travelling facilities are being provided to the passengers with running of the new buses and vehicles.
It is because of the personal interest taken by the provincial government and especially the Minister Transport, Sheikh Jaffar Mandokhail that the there is an improvement in the transport sector, the Secretary PTA mentioned.
While the public complaints about the transport are being addressed with sincerity, the condition of vehicles has also been improved to a great extent, he maintained.
He said that stern action has been taken against the poor condition buses and coaches. Several vehicles were impounded and their route permits were also cancelled, he added. The action was also taken against the buses over over-loading over-charging, he pointed out.
The process would remain continued in future as well, the Secretary PTA pledged. Therefore, all the concerned transporters should mend their way and bring marked improvement in their respective transport.
