Pakistan Navy kicks off relief and rescue activities in Balochistan

KARACHI, Sept 25 (Online): Pakistan Navy on Wednesday kicked off its relief and rescue activities in earthquake-hit areas of Balochistan where over 200 people have been killed.

Officials said over 300 Pakistan Navy marines and Special Forces left for Awaran area, with a ship carrying relief goods and medicines also headed to Gwadar to take part in ongoing relief efforts.

PNS spokesman said arrangements have been made on war-footing to provide treatment to the injured at PNS Darmaan Jah, a technologically advanced naval hospital established in Ormara.

Pakistan Navy says Fokker planes have been provided to airlift earthquake victims to Karachi and Ormara, a city in Gwadar district.
