28,000 kids to be vaccinated against polio in Kharan

QUETTA: Over 28,000 children below five years of age would be administered the anti-polio vaccine during forthcoming polio immunization campaign in Kharan district.
This was informed in a meeting held with Deputy Commissioner, Wali Muhammad Baraich in the chair.
The district officers of different departments including District Health Officer, Dr. Abdul Hameed Baloch, WHO representative, Dr. Nusrat Baloch and others were in attendance.
It was also informed that 103 mobile teams have been formed for the campaign. In addition to the immunization by the mobile teams, the children would also be administered the anti-polio vaccine at 12 fixed center and eight transit points.
Speaking on the occasion, the Deputy Commissioner directed to the concerned officials to effectively launch the campaign in Kharan so as to eradicate the virus.
