QMC launches special cleanliness drive

QUETTA: The special cleanliness campaign has been launched by Quetta Metropolitan Corporation (QMC) in the metropolis.
According to the Deputy Mayor QMC, Muhammad Younas Baloch, the campaign has been launched on special directives of Chief Minister, Nawab Sanaullah Zehri.
Needless to mention here is that the Chief Minister had taken serious notice of the poor cleanliness situation in the city.
He had directed to take stringent measures for cleanliness rather restoration of the traditional beauty of the city.
Muhammad Younas Baloch said that the garbage in different parts is being removed. He informed that around 1,000 tones of garbage and other waste is produced in the city every day, however, all the same is not disposed or dumped. We could manage to lift 350 tones of waste from the city due to the resources’ constraints and shortage of the concerned staff, adding he mentioned.
The Deputy Mayor QMC said that the emergency cell has been made fully operational, and is also working in this regard.
Younas Baloch said that we are committed to make the Quetta clean. However, we would need wholehearted cooperation of the citizens to achieve the target, he stressed.
He said that the citizens would have to play their part in keeping the city clean.
