Ombudsman directs to take steps for construction of Inter College Manzaki

QUETTA: Provincial Ombudsman Balochistan, Muhammad Wasey Tareen has issued directives to take immediate steps for construction of the building of Government Inter College, Manzaki, Pishin district.
It may be mentioned here that Professor Saadullah had pleaded to the Provincial Ombudsman that the then Minister Education had announced to establish the Government Inter College Manzaki in year 2009. A sum of Rs. 40 million had also been allocated for construction of the building of College in Public Sector Development Programme (PSDP) of financial year 2009-10.
Later, the PC-I of the project has also been prepared, but despite lapse of considerable time, implementation could not be made on the scheme.
According the complainant, the people of the area had also donated the land for the college. As there are seven schools in the area, the students who matriculate from there, are to face problems in continuing their education, it was pointed out in the complaint.
Meanwhile, Director Education (Colleges) Balochistan, in his reply, informed to the Provincial Ombudsman that the funds of Rs. 10 million had been allocated for the building in financial year 2012-13. However, the constructional work could not be started on the project due to non-availability of funds.
Therefore, the Ombudsman issued directives to take prompt measures for construction of the college as the matter has been placed in SNE of 2015-16 in view of the alleged negligence of the Education and Planning and Development departments so that the students of the area may benefit from the scheme.
