QUETTA Jan 25 (PPI): A shutter down was observed in Metropolis on the appeal of Markazi Anjuman Tajiran Monday. Shutter down was observed to protest behavior of Customs officials and security forces for harassing businessmen along Quetta-Chaman national highway.
All the shops and markets and business concerns in the city remained closed.
Anjuman Tajiran took out a rally which passed on city roads and staged a dharna at Meezan Chowk.
President of Anjuman Abdul Rahim Kakar, senior Vice President Hazrt Ali and others speaking on the occasion said that they had fed up with the behaviours of security forces and Customs officials. They said we have appealed to provincial Chief Minister and other high ups several times to take notice of harassment of traders but no action was taken. We would be left with no option but to observe shutter down as last resort.
They thanked business areas and political parties for supporting their strike and making it successful.
No untoward incident was reported during shutter down while security remained high alert during this period.
