Govt. optimistic regarding school admission drive

QUETTA: The wholehearted efforts are being made by the Education Department to achieve the goal of school admission campaign in collaboration with the private sector.
This was stated by the Secretary Education, Abdul Saboor Kakar while addressing a ceremony arranged by the UBL here the other day.
The Regional Business Head Quetta Region, Abdul Rehman and other senior officials of the Bank were present on the occasion.
The Secretary Education pointed out that we had set the target of enrolling some 0.5 million children in the schools during the current year 2016. We are endeavouring hard to convince the parents and children towards education as well as restore the trust of the people on the educational institutions running in the public sector, Abdul Saboor Kakar maintained.
In this regard, various programmes have been started, which would bear fruits in time to come, he hoped.
The Secretary said that the school admission campaign is being run in an organized manner, and in this regard, the very cooperation of the private sector is also being sought, he added.
He announced that the school bags, toys and other educational material would be provided free of cost at the private level to encourage the small girls and boys admitted in the schools from the new academic year.
This would also help increase interest of the children in studies, adding he believed.
Addressing the ceremony, the Regional Business Head of the UBL on the occasion announced that some 3,000 school bags would be distributed among the deserving children free of cost.
The banners are also being displayed at various points of the city in order to create awareness about education and school admission among the public particularly the parents.
While on the other hand, the customers visiting the bank are also being provided the brochures containing importance of education, he mentioned.
He believed that it would greatly help promote awareness among the general public about education.
