Secretary Education satisfied with process
of Secondary School Certificate’s exams;
says marked decline in cheating tendency
QUETTA: The Secretary Education, Abdul Saboor Kakar has categorically stated that there is a zero tolerance against cheating in the examinations and as such all the concerned staff should take wholehearted measures to prevent it.
He was speaking on occasion of the surprise visits of the examination centers established in the Government Special High School and Sacred Heart Girls High School here on Wednesday.
The Secretary Education inspected the process of examinations going on in the examination centers.
He expressed satisfaction over the government initiatives for prevention of cheating in the examinations of Matriculation.
He noted with contentment that there is a marked reduction in the tendency of cheating in examinations thanks to the measures taken by the government as well as cooperation extended by the students and their parents.
He said that it is also a matter of satisfaction that the students are appearing in the examinations on the basis of their hard work.
While he expressed satisfaction over process of the examinations, yet he removed a deputy Superintendent of the examination staff of an examination center deputed against the policy.
Meanwhile, the Secretary Information, Abdullah Jan visited the examination centers of Lasbela district the same day. Speaking on the occasion, he stressed the need to pay special attention on quality of education by improving the education system.
He said that the positive change could not be made without ensuring quality education for the students. He said that menace of cheating has to be eliminated for the cause of quality education in the province.
He also expressed his satisfaction over ongoing process of examinations in Lasbela.
He said that the present government is making wholehearted efforts to resolve the issues being faced by the educational institutions in the province besides providing basic facilities to them.
He said that the allocations have already been made for provision of necessary furniture and other items besides free books in the schools.
The Secretary Information on the occasion also regretfully pointed out that the merit was allegedly ignored in appointment of the teachers in the past. That had also resulted in declining the standard of education, he maintained.
In order to bring improvement in quality of education, the government decided to recruit teachers on merit and that through National Testing Services (NTS).
