QUETTA: The fourth session of the academic council of Turbat University was held in city campus of the University the other day.
The Vice Chancellor of UoB, Professor Dr. Abdul Razzaq Sabir presided over the meeting.
Those who were in attendance were included: the Pro-Vice Chancellor, Dr. Abdul Saboor Baloch, acting Registrar, Dr. Hanifur Rehman, Controller Examinations, Tanvir Ahmed, Director Public Relations, Ejaz Ahmed, Abdul Majid Nasser, Abdul Ghafoor Shah, Ms. Samina Faqir, senior faculty members and other concerned.
Certain important matters related to the University affairs were discussed while certain decisions were also made during the meeting.
They were included about the rules and regulations of semester system, admission policy in various departments of the University, launching of M.Phil and Ph.D programmes, academic calendar 2016, besides the establishment of Mulla Fazil chair, merit scholarship, etc.
The meeting also endorsed the decisions made in the Board of Studies of the Education department.
In addition to them, the overall performance of all the departments and academic activities was also reviewed.
In the meeting, the satisfaction was expressed on the overall situation and academic environment prevailing in the Tubat University.
However, recommendations were also made to bring necessary reforms in different departments bringing them at par and in view of the modern day requirements.
Speaking on the occasion, Professor Dr. Abdul Razzaq Sabir said that the University has the potential to be enlisted in the ranks of prominent higher educational institutions of the country.
He said that it is the era of tough competition and we have to compete other institutions in the field of higher education. We need to make planning in view of the future challenges in this regard, adding he stressed.
