SMEDA organizes one day training on Women Entrepreneurship Development

A Training program was jointly organized by SMEDA and Women Business Incubation Centre (WBIC), Sardar Bahadur Khan (SBK) Women University on “Women Entrepreneurship development in Balochistanâ€. SMEDA Quetta; in order to promote women entrepreneurship & facilitate women entrepreneurs in the region, conducts trainings from time to time covering areas such as introduction to entrepreneurship, enterprise development, management, technical and skill development. SMEDA Quetta jointly with WBIC, SBK University conducted this training at SBK University.
The idea of training was primarily to introduce students to the idea of entrepreneurship, stages of enterprise development with focus on different methods of generating seed money for startups and to motivate students to change their business ideas to enterprises with a interactive session with a women entrepreneur from Balochistan, describing her success story. The training session started with Tilawat-e-Quran. The training session was organized and initiated by Qurat-ul-Ain Sultan, Management Associate, SMEDA Balochistan who in the first part of the session briefed students about SMEDA’s contribution towards SME facilitation and initiatives taken in the area of business development with emphasis on women enterprise development in Balochistan. She also highlighted the importance and role of SMEDA in sector& cluster development in Balochistan, described potential business opportunities for young women entrepreneurs in Balochistan followed by a briefintroduction of Prime Minister Youth Business loan programme. The 2nd part of the training session comprised of the resource person Miss Hira Kanwal’s detailed insights on entrepreneurship, stages of enterprise development followed by analysis of a case study & a group activity about business ideas generation. The 3rd part of the training consisted of Miss Marzia Khanum, CEO embellishers about her enterprise, her journey from starting up her own business to making sales across Pakistan and potential opportunities in Balochistan for women entrepreneurship. Students were really taken by this Success story and were motivated which ensued a vigorous Q&A session between Miss Marzia and Students.
At closing session the students, faculty and administration of SBK University thanked SMEDA Balochistan for initiating the program and extended their support for further trainings sessions at their university for the guidance and benefit of its students. A healthy participation was observed in the training programs with a very vigorous Q&A session.
While concluding the training the SMEDA officials thanked the SBKUniversity administration, faculty and students for their interest, support and appreciation to SMEDA.
