CM distributes laptops

QUETTA Apr 14 (PPI): Balochistan Chief Minister Nawab Sanaullah Zehri has said a peaceful, literate and prosperous Balochistan is his dream and young generation has to play its role for materializing this dream. Government was ready to provide every facility and training for latest educational opportunities. They have to make promise they would take benefit from these facilities and opportunities and mobilize their energies to make the province prosperous and peaceful. Government would continue to support and patronize education and Information technology sectors.
He said this while addressing laptop distribution ceremony among girl and boy students completing their training under Information and Information Technology Chief Minister Initiative Programme in collaborator with known companies Oracle and Sisco here Thursday..
Chief Minster said it is of course an important day of provincial history when we moving forward crossing a new milestone in the field of information technology. He said when laptops were distributed in other provinces he also desired such facility for students of Balochistan. Now Allah almighty has provided this opportunity to him to provide laptops to our students to harmonise them with modern day demands.
He said there is proposal of distribution of 30 thousand laptops and he announced to increase it to 50 thousand. Soon implementation to this project would get start.
Chief Minister also announced to provide laptops to the successful 196 girl and boy students and Rupees 5- thousand cash award for students winning positions. Other students were given certificates.
Nawab Zehri said responsibility assigned by Allah Almighty to him as Chief Minster he wants to do something for youth of the province.
He also announced rupees 75 million for IT Programme. He directed that implementations of the programme should continue and its orbit should be increased to divisional headquarters so that students there could also get benefit.
He said it has been his stance that we should improve our basic infrastructure and to prepare skilled manpower a power which is equipped with modern skills beneficial for the country and the province.
Chief Minister said we can take benefit from the abilities of our youth buy harmonizing them with demands of modern day. He said teachers were forced to leave the province after target killings. It destroyed our education system and this is reason our literacy ratio is not satisfactory and we failed to prepare skilled manpower which could play its role in the development of the province.
He said IT is the field in which with minimum investment maximum profit can be earned. He said students were being provided training by Oracle and Sisco companies assistance at an estimated cost of 100 million dollars. He said this project would have far reaching impacts and youth completing their training could get employment at the national and international level.
Director General IT Khalid Sherdil in his address of welcome said on the directives of Chief Minster CM Balochistan Initiative Programme was launched under which more than one thousand students both girls and boys would be provided training for two years in oracle database and Sisco networking and they would be provided certificates by international companies. He said a group fo 220 students have successfully completed their training and several of them have been offered jobs.
On this occasion laptops were distributed among 24 students and 196 students were given certificates on completion of their training.
