AIOU employees contribute one day salary for Balochistan earth-quack victims

ISLAMABAD, Sept 26 (Online): The employees of the Allama Iqbal Open University (AIOU) have decided to contribute their one-day salary for the relief of earthquake victims in Balochistan.
The decision was announced by the Vice-Chancellor, AIOU Prof. Dr. Nazir Ahmed Sangi while inaugurating the University’s Officers Club at its main campus here last night.
Dr. Sangi also announced that the University will also provide financial support to its students who suffered during the earthquake. They will be given relief in their annual fee as well as in shape of scholarships, enabling them to continue their study, he added.
Dr. Sangi said that University’s Finance Committee has approved in principle a ‘housing scheme’ for the residence of University’s employees, it was agreed that University will provide necessary funding for implementation of the housing scheme.
About the officers club, he said it will be named after “AIOU Foundation”, in order to project the cause of the employees. The club will also be available for the University’s retired employees as well. A complex will also be established at the main campus to facilitate employees’ children, he added.
