Quake affectees not to be abandoned: Qadir Baloch

QUETTA, 26 Sep (Online): federal minister for Frontier Affairs, Gen (Retd) Abdul Qadir Baloch has said that all affectees of recent Baloch earthquake would not be abandoned, at this hour of disaster.

During his recent visit to quake-stricken Awaran region, on directives of Prime Minister Mian Nawaz Sharif, accompanied by state minister for Petroleum, Mir Jam Kamal, Abdul Qadir Baloch was also given a detailed briefing about loss of life and property due to quake and ongoing rescue efforts.

On the occasion, Gen (Retd) Abdul Qadir Baloch also announced Rs 250 million official grant on behalf of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, and said that Army and FC troops had started relief operations within 24 hours of quake occurrence.

Meanwhile the chief secretary Balochistan also announced an emergency Rs 180 million grant on behalf of Provincial government.

The occasion was also graced by commander Southern Command, I.G FC and other higher officials.
